KIDSAFE CANADA - Upcoming Babysitters Courses! 
This is a fantastic course for youth wishing to become babysitters!
This youth program is taught by trained Instructors and focuses on teaching participants the essential child care skills needed to be responsible child-care givers and ‘first-aiders’ including:
Basic skills such as diaper changing
Holding and feeding a baby
Simple and nutritional snacks and meals for kids
Safety tips for children of all ages
How to cope with common problems, like tantrums and crying
What to do if anything makes the babysitter uncomfortable
Some great games and other ideas for having fun with the kids while babysitting
How to make the children's environment safe and enjoyable
The respective rights and responsibilities of the babysitter and the hiring family
How to handle emergencies with an introduction to CPR for infants and children
Choking and airway management
...and tons more including getting hired and finding lots of great jobs safely!
Participants will receive a KidSafe Canada certification card which is recognized across the country. Participants also receive a copy of the Babysitter’s Manual
Age requirement: Recommended for youth aged 10 through 14 years old.
Prerequisites: None
Minimum Standards for Completion: Minimum of 60% on the oral quiz
Classroom: Demonstration of a responsible and mature attitude during the course sessions.
COURSE DETAILS
Fee: The course fee is $54.30 plus GST, totalling $57.00. Please pay by cash the day of the course. (Please request a tax receipt at that time should you require one).
Please note: We apologize but we can no longer accept cheques or credit cards due to the large number of NSF cheques and declined/fraudulent credit cards that we have received.
What to bring: a lunch and snack(s) (that are nut free please due to risk of participant nut allergies);
a pen or pencil;
some type of doll to practice with (anything that is reasonably close to
the size of a baby is fine (Cabbage Patch Doll is an ideal size).
All participants will receive a Babysitters manual/workbook at the course, but we suggest bringing some extra paper or a notebook for additional notes, etc.
Participant to Instructor ratio: 25:1

AVAILABILITY: Unless a course is otherwise noted, all courses listed below have availability for registration. Once a course becomes full, we will make note next to the date. Most courses fill up quite quickly, however, you may register for any available course right up until an hour prior to the scheduled start time for a course.
